1979 Gibson Les Paul Pro Goldtop

$3,500

The Les Paul Pro was part of Gibson's late-1970s Les Paul lineup, offering a distinctive take on the traditional Les Paul formula. This 1979 example features a Goldtop finish and honest player wear accumulated over the course of its nearly five decades.

The instrument remains largely original, with one replaced volume potentiometer. It retains the character and appearance of a well-played vintage Gibson, with a couple of details worth noting for prospective buyers.

There are four mounting holes on the headstock from a previous hardware installation, consistent with a locking nut assembly, potentially associated with a Kahler tremolo system. The original hardware is no longer present, and the installation appears to have been professionally removed at some point in the instrument's history.

The “Les Paul Model” silkscreen appears to have been misplaced on its first pass, leaving a visible imperfection in the logo placement. This is rare, but not unheard of on late-70’s Gibsons. This is a cosmetic characteristic of the original factory finish rather than a subsequent alteration.

The guitar presents as a well-preserved example of a late-1970s Les Paul Pro, with the wear and history one would expect from an instrument of this age.
